The beginning

In the mid-nineties, with four years of early childhood teacher training and education degree behind her, Sara Greensill-van Prehn started on her journey in early childhood.

She took her love for children, her passion for education and her experiences from a teacher, lecturer and public servant, she was able to pull all her ideals together. Three decades later, as she opened the doors to Piccolo Preschool, Sara and her team of dedicated qualified teachers realised they were onto something.

The mission

Inside the weatherboard walls of the Cracroft Street preschool, Sara’s dream of creating a warm, nurturing space for young children had become a reality. Everywhere, little explorers were learning, growing, and embracing the world with curiosity.

Her innovative approach and inspiring philosophy of small numbers of children in an environment where learning was rich and holistic, and where every child felt happy, confident, heard, and deeply valued.
